With the Google app also comes a navigation system that is great to use for a GPS. Unlike typical GPS’s the navigation app stays up to date with new destinations that are many times hard to find. 

Don’t be taken in by the big discounts. When it comes to cell phone plans keep in mind that free or deeply discounted phone comes at a price. Cell phone companies typically make up for the discounted price of the phone in the plan it is tied to. Don’t be so blinded by a shiny new phone that you agree to whatever plan it comes with. Look at the details and the cost to make sure the plan is right for you.  This is especially important when you are shopping for cheap cell phone plans.  If you want an iPhone, but you don’t want a two year contract consider getting an unlocked iPhone that can be used with cheaper pay as you go plans.

Why bother with insurance for you iPhone? The bottom line is this: when something happens to your cell, you’ll wish you’d gotten the insurance, that’s why. I recently had my iPhone stolen from my purse, whilst I was wandering around a Marc Jacobs outlet. I also lost my wallet but that’s another story. Anyway – the loss of my iPhone.

As I’d noticed its disappearance whilst I was still in the store, I immediately called one of the store assistants. She then called security and they in turn set off checking the stores every nook and cranny, as well as checked out the surveillance cameras. Suffice to say that he made off with my cell and wallet and I was left kinda stranded. The store manager had me taken to his office, whereby I was able to report the theft to both the police and my insurance company. Thankfully they took charge from the get go. The phone was locked down, rendering it useless, and all my data was wiped immediately.

I had a new iPhone dispatched as soon as they’d taken down all my details, and that arrived late afternoon the following day. Overall it was an inconvenience but the insurance protection made a huge difference. I am with AT & T, the Asurion plan, which covers all the basics (repairs, accidental damage, manufacturer faults) plus lost or stolen cover.

It’s a comprehensive package, worth it for the worst case scenario and the customer service (if it turns out that you require it) is second to none.
